Press Release Summary: Online Education Solution Selects Accredited Arizona Institution To Provide Credits For Its Students
Press Release Body: WASHINGTON, D.C. - StraighterLine (www.straighterline.com), a new online education solution that provides students a high quality, better supported, and lower cost way to obtain college credits through regionally accredited colleges and universities, has announced that Grand Canyon University (www.gcu.edu) will be a partner college, an accredited institution that provides college credit for students who successfully complete courses from StraighterLine. StraighterLine selected GCU for its rigorous and high quality degree programs, as well as for its commitment to individual learners and their needs.
Grand Canyon University is a private non-denominational Christian University in Phoenix, Ariz. with an enrollment of approximately 15,000 students. Founded in 1949, it is one of the fastest growing private Christian universities in the country, with more than 60 degree programs offered. GCU emphasizes individual attention for both traditional students as well as the working professional. Online and campus based bachelor's and master's degree programs are offered through the College of Education, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Ken Blanchard College of Business and the College of Liberal Arts.
Students who take a StraighterLine course can select Grand Canyon University to award credit for the course. They can continue their major studies and pursue their degree through this college, or they can transfer those credits to non-partner colleges that recognize StraighterLine's partner's courses as equivalent programs.
Currently StraighterLine offers four entry-level curriculum courses where credit can be transferred: College Algebra, English Composition, Economics 101 and Accounting 101. More courses are planned for the future.
